As to the question, I was mugged. The me of the past told him to go away. He threatened to stab me, and I dared him. He did. I held the knife in there and stabbed him with this. Then for reasons I am unable to explain I opted to heal him instead of simply let him die.

Maybe because it would have been too troublesome to go to the police and be trialed for murder. . .though, in your case, it was purely self defense and justified. You probalby wouldn't have been able to explain your magical hand knife, though. . .ugh.

I thought very forcefully it in response to the voices in my head telling me to kill him just before I began to heal him. I believe it may be related to my reasoning.

...From my memory of the event, I did not allow it to occur. I have no intention of listening to any voices I hear in my head from this point forward, either.
