I don't see why not. It doesn't say there's any restrictions in what we put in our message... anyway, if we try it, and the dragon refuses, we'll just have to rethink our strategy then.
They have not told us who they are, yes? And it does not give us any advantage. If anything - ah . . . hypothetically is the word, I think? - knowing we are not a team they favor may change what they wish to do, as well.
