We're the same because you're selfish and only merciful when it costs you nothing. Because you're ruthless when it comes to achieving your desires and you don't care what others think of you, though you'll act friendly enough because why not? That sort of half-hearted generosity is free.

Of course not. But we aren't talking about "someone", we're talking about humanity. If you claim to love and hate it and to want to wipe it out, I think it does count as a bit of a complicated relationship.
