[Today, scaled talons reach out and grab each of the Celestes in turn, pulling them into Dragon's cave. Dragon itself is there, lounging on the floor, the bones of animals strewn all around. It surveys them lazily.]

Celeste. I have a proposition for you.

So. We need them to torture each other horribly because anguish is dragon lube, then serve them as snacks, and preferably we need a way that they can bribe us for favoritism so we can make a profit and make everyone think about being allied to team 'in Soviet game, art appreciates you.'

'Torture each other.' We just keep the buckets handy- or popcorn if it's someone we don't like.

Why don't we try to keep the death and suffering to a minimum.

We are making the dragon happy so it doesn't eat us. If we do it well enough we might even get a reputation for being useful to the people in charge and I'd rather be pet torturer than snack food. No team supports us. We go in fair and we just get eaten. I want every team to go 'if we fuck Celeste over, they might be in charge next game. If we play nice, we get favoritism.'

The dragon is a sadist. We are not getting away with aggressive hugging and mean words the competition.

All the dragon said is that it wants the game to be interesting and it wants to eat.

So -- we don't have to make it all fun and games, but we can find something in between.

The dragon told me it wanted a violent, passionate competition and oh, he's a sadist.

I don't want to do that, either. I don't have any ideas, that would keep him interested, though, that are non-violent, and it's going to end with some people getting eaten, anyway.

There's a difference between "making it interesting" and going above and beyond in the pain-and-death area.
